ANME's mission is to promote an understanding of the history of Australian education.
We do this through:
- the development and preservation of our collection.
- support for related research and scholarship.
- collaboration with school museums and communities across the nation.
ANME is an integral part of the 妹团视频. We provide:
- an onsite repository for research for pre-service and practising teachers.
- training for students of heritage, conservation and museology.
- an annual ANME Prize to recognize excellence and service by students in heritage studies.
The ANME was founded by Dr Malcolm Beazley AM in 1996, with a Seed Grant from the Australian College of Educators.
ANME鈥檚 physical repository began in a small room at the Australian College of Educators in Canberra. In the 1990s, the 妹团视频 offered premises for storing and displaying the collection in its Building 5, home to the Faculty of Education at the time. In the early 2000s, ANME formally became an integral part of the 妹团视频 and continues to receive direct support from UC鈥檚 Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts and Design.
ANZHES
ANME is proudly affiliated with the
Established in 1971, the aim of ANZHES is to collect and distribute information relating to the study, teaching and research in the history of education. A further aim is to sponsor and support such activities as may encourage research and exchange of ideas on the history of education.
AMaGA
ANME is a member organisation of the The national association and peak advocacy body representing museums and galleries, AMaGA seek to enhance the value of Australia鈥檚 collections, public programs and stories by sharing knowledge, developing skills, inspiring innovation and providing leadership and the authoritative voice in protecting and promoting our arts and cultural heritage.
